WAR CHILD LEBANON – SHIELD PROJECT
In Lebanon, War Child responds to the urgent needs of Lebanese at-risk children and Syrian refugee children affected by conflict. Due to the deteriorated socio-economic situation in combination with COVID-19, there are increasing challenges, especially regarding (refugee) children. They are exposed to violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect. War Child supports these children by means of education and psychosocial support and a care intervention for parents/carers. Thanks in part to a donation of Fonds 1999, War Child was able to implement the education programme, trained teachers and supervisors, organized recreational activities for the children and offered psychosocial support to parents/carers.
