STICHTING NEDERLANDSE BIOGRAFIEPRIJS – AWARD 2022

Thanks in part to the support of Fonds 1999, the Dutch Biography Prize was awarded for the seventh time on 31 October 2022. The prize went to the biography De Zwijger. The life of William of Orange by René van Stipriaan. This title was chosen from the five best Dutch-language biographies published in the past two years. Besides Stipriaan’s work, works by Lieneke Frerichs, Margriet van der Heijden, Pieter Sijpersma and Jolande Withuis were also nominated. The chairman of the jury, Dr. Arend Soeteman, came with words of praise to all biographers and elaborated on the jury’s findings on the five nominated titles.

In 2024, the Dutch Biography Prize will be awarded again to the best Dutch-language biography published between summer 2022 and 2024.
