The Ricciotti ensemble is a street symphony orchestra, consisting of 43 students, that plays for people who, for whatever reason, have little or no exposure to live symphonic music. Since its founding in 1970, the orchestra has been playing everywhere and for everyone. After looking back at the history of the Ricciotti ensemble during its 51st anniversary in 2021, this summer (2022) it was time to look to the future! Together with soloist Soheil Shayesteh on kamancheh, the orchestra performed live symphonic music anywhere and for everyone with the theme of the future: touches of electronica, Eastern sounds, classical, jazz and pop. The Futura Tour was co-sponsored by Fonds 1999 and the students played on the streets, in care homes, asylum seekers’ centres, churches, a castle, schools, theatres, railway stations and many other fun places.
