The Residents project offers primary school pupils in The Hague the opportunity to learn to play an instrument, to play together and to play in a real orchestra. The Residentie Orkest organizes lessons for more than 480 students in The Hague at eight primary schools and also offers them the opportunity to participate in the Stadsorkest on Wednesday afternoons. In this city-wide learning orchestra, students perform together with musicians from the Residentie Orkest.

The Residents promotes integration, cultural participation and citizenship in general and contributes to social cohesion in the city. The Residents is made possible by the support of various funds, including Fonds 1999, and has since proven itself as a project that meets a great need for the children of The Hague.
