GRACHTENFESTIVAL 2022 – YOUNG TALENT IN THE OUDE WATER

Since 1998, the Grachtenfestival (GF) has been discovering, launching and facilitating young, talented musicians in various ways at the start of their careers. The festival acts as a springboard for the newest generation of musicians (up to 35 years old) and focuses specifically on the presentation and development of young talent and young professionals in classical music and jazz from all over the world.

The Young Talent in the Oude Wester and Grachtenfestival Launches series form a duo programming with which the GF gives space, guidance and stimulation to young musicians in a unique way to develop themselves as a professional musician. The series jointly form part of the GF’s objective to support young talent at various levels at the start of their professional career. With this programming, the GF reaches a large audience, where both (young) adults who love classical music and the elderly enjoy emerging, talented musicians.

Partly thanks to the contribution of Fonds 1999, the five concerts from the series in the Westerkerk could be offered to the public free of charge during the Grachtenfestival 2022. In addition, 5 jazz and 8 classical ensembles were able to ‘launch’ their own concert evening, always a very popular part of the festival. festival.
