The Children’s Music Week aims to let all children in the Netherlands between 0-12 years experience the magic of (live) music. Children are not only encouraged to experience music, but also to start making music themselves. In 2021 the Children’s Music Week wanted to focus on more diversity in target groups, musical genres and participants. In addition, the Children’s Music Week wanted to increase its brand awareness and (better) position the online edition of the Children’s Music Week.

Thanks in part to a donation from Fonds 1999, the Children’s Music Week has been able to reach more than 795,000 children directly. For example, more than 250 (online) activities were organized by approximately 100 participating organizations from all over the Netherlands. Partly because of this, the Children’s Music Week is on its way to becoming a permanent part of the cultural infrastructure in the Netherlands in the coming years.
