In August 2025, 570 young people and volunteers from 22 countries came together at Kasteel De Berckt for the 40th edition of Maltacamp, made possible in part by Fonds 1999. Around 200 young people with disabilities experienced a week full of workshops, sports, games, and excursions such as the Efteling and indoor skydiving. Alongside activities on and off the campsite, evenings with a disco and Maltacamp’s Got Talent added to the fun. Participants made new friendships and experienced a week they’ll never forget. Experience of a participant: “During this camp I learned that things always work out in the end, even when they don’t go as usual. I also learned that you don’t need to know someone for a long time to really understand each other. This camp was a week I will never forget.”
