The String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam is the only string quartet festival of this size and content worldwide. With more than 30 string quartets from all over the world, 50 concerts, master classes and lecture recitals, the festival is a vibrant meeting place for international music lovers. The third edition in January 2022 was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. Thanks in part to a donation from Fonds 1999, several live programs on Radio4 and a live concert with a limited audience could still take place.
