The Ricciotti Ensemble is the only street symphony orchestra in the Netherlands. Since 1970, the ensemble has set for itself the mission of playing everywhere and for everyone. The Ricciotti does not play in concert halls, but rather brings live symphonic music to people that normally would not often come into contact with it. In August 2018, Ricciotti organised ‘Ricciottiando en Cuba’ with a swinging mix of classic and contemporary Cuban music, pop music, jazz and popular Cuban repertoire. The ensemble then gave more than 40 performances in places such as refugee centres, prisons, care centres and nursing homes and special schools.
