Kunstbende is a development trajectory and a competition for youngsters between the ages of 13 and 19 in the field of dance, DJ, expo, fashion, film, music, language and theater. Kunstbende is for everyone, even if you have little or no experience. In three phases, youngsters can explore and develop their talent. During the preparations for their presentation for the Preliminary Round, where they perform on a real stage in the Utrecht City Theater, they can follow workshops or receive personal guidance from coaches. In 2024, partly thanks to Fonds 1999, 1934 young people were reached through recruitment at schools. Ultimately, 140 young people stood on stage, which attracted 550 visitors. The performances were judged by three jury members, all professional artists, per category. After the Preliminary Round, the prize winners were given the opportunity to perform during the cultural Sunday on June 9 and during a festival organized by cultural center Zimihc.
