On 25 September 2025, the second edition of the No Limits Festival took place in The Hague. The festival offers a platform to creators with disabilities who are still insufficiently visible on Dutch theatre stages. This edition, hosted at Het Nationale Theater, focused on the meaning of accessibility within the performing arts. In collaboration with Het Nationale Theater and with the support of Fonds 1999, the festival created a broadly accessible festival experience for audiences with and without disabilities. This resulted in meaningful encounters between people from diverse backgrounds. One visitor later wrote:
“I don’t know if it was the openness with which I was welcomed, but I felt seen for who I am. I met people and had conversations about creativity, theatre and hobbies. At no point was I asked why I can’t walk. That is often the first thing people want to know—which I understand—but it felt liberating not to have to tell that story for once.” With this edition, a solid foundation has been laid for an inclusive, sustainable and artistically inspiring festival, creating space for talent, representation, and the removal of social and physical barriers.
